Investment Portfolio Strategy

We work with private equity funds that focus on utilities, renewable energy, storage, hydrogen and small modular reactors; infrastructure funds focused on utility-scale generation, transmission, bulk battery storage, ports, water treatment and distributed energy/microgrids; mid-market funds focused on service providers to the utility, clean energy and critical mineral industries; and venture capital funds focused on early- to mid-stage innovation companies. This work includes commercial due diligence, investment/divestment decision support, and coaching portfolio companies to move more swiftly to commercialization of early-stage technologies.
Data Center Integration
Providing support for siting decisions, interfacing/negotiations with ISOs and utilities, and infrastructure development.
The Acceleration Energy team has extensive hands-on experience developing transmission, energy storage and renewable energy projects – both behind and in-front of the meter – and can deploy that experience to help data center developers prospect for site options (greenfield/brownfield/co-located), negotiate site lease/purchase agreements, secure needed permits, file and manage interconnection requests, and effectively engage communities, government officials and other key stakeholders. We also advise on ensuring data centers are as energy efficient as evolving technologies make possible and result in least possible impacts on existing ratepayers.

The Acceleration Energy team works with young companies to strengthen business development, project delivery and revenue generation; understand what emerging technologies are needed by OEMs, energy developers and supply chain companies; navigate rapid growth; build more effective management capacity and skills; and leverage government policies, programs and funding to create business opportunities. We also assist investing teams in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the clean technology market landscape and identifying young companies that show the greatest ability to fill the market needs.
International Growth

In a time of turbulence in international trade and investment, foreign firms need experienced insights about key opportunities in the United States, and U.S. firms need guidance and assistance in entering strategic foreign markets. We bring to bear deep insights and experience in both international energy trade and investment policies and the challenges facing foreign firms seeking to gain entry and build their business in the United States and across North America. Infrastructure Development
Originating and developing greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects
Acceleration Energy Principals have first-hand experience in originating and developing utility-scale infrastructure with off-take contracts and regulated rate base return. We work with clients to create a compelling competitive bid package for RFPs, identify site options (greenfield/brownfield/co-located), negotiate site lease/purchase agreements, secure needed local/state/federal permits, file and manage interconnection requests, craft community benefits assessments, and effectively engage communities, government officials, labor unions, suppliers, investors and other key stakeholders. We also ensure judicious management of at-risk capital spend to advance work that is critical for project success (different across projects and geographies).
This work is conducted directly by the Acceleration Energy principals along with a network of engineering, government relations, legal, communications, and environmental experts/firms. We also have strong relationships throughout the energy industry, including OEMs, developers, and supply chain companies.

We help clients understand how existing public policies and programs can benefit their business model and identify when it makes sense to seek public funding or policy adjustments.
